Director of Environmental, Health & Safety
Having joined MOR PPM (PPM) in 2012, Chip is the driving force behind PPM’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Excellence (EHS) programs, which continually deliver world-class safety performance in all sectors of the construction market.
Under Chip’s leadership, PPM has exceeded industry-average safety incident reduction statistics, and Chip has helped make PPM a name synonymous with safety inside the power, pulp and paper, chemical process, and tire industries. After joining the PPM Senior Leadership Team, Chip implemented an industry-leading EHS management system. As a result, PPM has been recognized by its clients and third-party groups with numerous awards for safety excellence.
Chip brings over 20 years of experience in industrial safety management and has a diverse background working in countries such as Asia and Latin America, as well as North America.
Chip’s dynamic career has consisted of implementing site-specific safety and environmental programs and auditing processes to numerous clients during EPCM, turnarounds, shutdowns, process-design packages, feasibility studies, greenfield and brownfield construction, steel erection, penthouse removals, coker revamps, package boilers installation, CFB boiler erection, economizer installation, grassroots LNG facility design and construction management, environmental studies, and client risk assessments involving direct hire and contractor employees.
Chip stays active in the safety profession by teaching and sharing his passion for injury prevention as an instructor for the National Safety Council, the OSHA Outreach Program, and the South Carolina Fire Academy.
Chip and his wife have two children. When he’s not working, Chip is active as a firefighter, and serves as Captain of the Dillon County Fire Rescue. Chip enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and attending sporting events with his family.
